Goal

To optimize cardiac testing at HHS by incorporating risk stratification into existing centralized triage processes to propose Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiography (CCTA) as a first step in eligible low risk patients, instead of invasive angiography.

Brief Description

As a process evaluation of the CarDIA study, CEBI conducted a mixed methods evaluation to assess the feasibility of implementing this new pathway by gathering the perspectives of three groups of stakeholders (physicians, patients and triage staff). These results were combined with additional study evaluation findings which address impact of CCTA on the diagnostic yield of invasive angiography, and measure the economic impact of the care pathway, to ultimately determine the effectiveness and sustainability of the intervention.
